In February 2016 I bought a Samsung tablet at the Fred Meyer Store on Walker Road in Beaverton. The MANAGER of the Electronics Department pressured me into buying an extended warranty for this outrageously expensive product. He told me "This covers EVERTYTHING".

In August 2016 I had a condo fire the tablet was destroyed. I contacted the SIMPLR people. They confirmed that I had bought a policy. They confirmed that it was still in effect. Then they told me that they would NOT cover my tablet.

Using a "semantic ballet" they told me that the damage was "Due to THIRD party damage". Using this creative wording, they can literally weasel out of paying ANY Claim. For example, if I had dropped my tablet, they could simply say that GRAVITY was a "third Party". If I had scratched my tablet they could say that the SCRIBE was "third party".

I randomly called six Fred Meyer Electronics Department Staff at six different Stores in the Portland area. ALL of them said "it would COVER EVERYTHING". NONE of them were able to explain the basic terms and conditions of coverage for this policy.

Fred Meyer has not properly trained its employees to sell this coverage. Consumers rely on the Fred Meyer Sales Staff -- a staff which is selling insurance which it does not understand!

Fred Meyer has done absolutely NOTHING to respond to my concerns. They have not even refunded the unused portion of the policy. I have NO tablet, thus, I should receive a refund on the balance of the one year warranty which cannot be used.

The SIMPLR Extended Warranty Product violates the Consumer Protection Laws of both Oregon and Washington. IT should NOT be sold by Fred Meyer. It should not be sold by ANY retailer in Oregon.

Reason of review: Warranty issue.

Location: Yuba City, California

I filed a claim on my TV in July 16, 2016, I'm still waiting for my reimbursement check from SIMPLRPLAN I purchased from fred Meyer Nov 2014, a 2 yr warranty. They are horrible at processing the claim.

I always get the same person answering the call and get transferred to another person. I think this plan is a scam! It's been 3 months!

Seriously considering filing charges through a lawyer for falsifying claims on their brochures and procedures for processing claims! Will never buy electronics from fred Meyer!
