I bought two plastic storage boxes. The sign said Two for $10.00.

The two boxes were bound together, and the clerk scanned the two boxes twice because he said each box was $5.00 for a total of $10.00. I brought the boxes back to Fred Meyer, and I could only get a $5.00 refund because the 2 boxes were bound together and the $10.00 was for 2 sets of bound boxes for a total of 4 boxes.

I was charged for 2 sets of boxes, and I was returning only one set. I did not have proof that I bought only one set.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $5.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

I was visiting Salem Oregon and stopped by the local Fred Meyer store, I got a soda, candy bar, and two protein bars, total of 9.31. my paper receipt say 9.31 but the bank statement charge shows 93.11.

it also shows another charge for 63.13 but I want to the store only once. So why does the paper receipt say one think but when I check my bank the charge is through the roof.

if this happens to anyone in the future INSIST that they go and review the recording of the transaction. Most retailers only keep the past 2 weeks, but that was with VCRs, it might be longer now with everything being digital and cloud storage.

Also, I know they can pull the transaction up on their computer if you have the reciept, but not so sure if you just have your rewards card. When in doubt, address something like this BEFORE even leaving the store, I know its a hassle and you shouldnt have to but better to be safe than sorry, and if you dont have time to stop and speak to customer service, call asap and speak to a manager so they are aware of the issue, and above all, KEEP YOUR RECIEPT!
